Phoenix lord Fuegan kept a vigil on the ork war band beginning to gather near a small Eldar colony world. This was deemed by the seers not to be a threat, and that it should be ignored and let alone to dissipate. Any military attempt to disperse the band would only unite it, drawing orks from afar to join the cause and relish it battle. Gatherings such as this frequently occur and almost as frequently are torn apart from the inside out due to the squabbling for power between the warbosses within. In this instance Fuegan disagreed with the seers, believing he should be allowed to crush this gathering before it became a WAAAGH. He was correct; this group was headed by a particularly strong Warboss who had great control over the orks under his command. By the time the Eldar realized the danger it was too late, the orks made planet fall on the colony world and began their destruction. The WAAAGH had begun.
As with most ork WAAAGHs the situation quickly got out of control. After the first few engagements it became clear to Fuegan and the seers that it would be wise to seek allies to assist in removing this ork presence. The council immediately contacted other craft worlds, hoping that one would come to their aid, however most were either too far away to be of any assistance, or had problems of their own and could lend no additional troops. Fuegan, despite the disagreement of the council, knew where they could find help. There was a Space marine chapter that he had the pleasure of fighting side by side with in the past. The Imperium of Man usually has little interest in the well being of other races, however the Knights of Atlantis have long been known for their respect, and willingness to fight alongside the Eldar.
A small Knights of Atlantis destroyer was sent to meet with Fuegan and the Eldar, as well as asses the threat posed by the orks. Upon arrival to the plant the thunderhawk came under attack and was shot down by ork ships patrolling the atmosphere. The marine emissary and his bodyguard were able to escape the wreck in the two Rhino transports that were kept aboard the thundarhawk. They came under attack attempting to make their way to the Eldar fortress. Upon learning of this Fuegan immediately lead his troops out to rescue the Knights of Atlantis forces.

Warboss Shatterskull Snotblood soon learned of the crippled humies. He saw this as an early opportunity to destroy any hope of an alliance between the Eldar and these humies. If he could get to them first, he could take them prisoner or make an example of them. He had worked too hard organizing this WAAAGH for it to be shattered before it really got rolling. He led his shock troops out onto the plains of the Eldar world in search of the humies, and battle. His second in command, a younger aspiring warboss and warrior by the name of Skabarg Skartoof, accompanied him on this raid, nothing would stop him from his victory. This planet would serve well as his base of operations, as well as the center of his empire. Just as they were coming up on the blue armored trukks of the humies they spotted the Eldar force, lead by Fuegan….
The battle erupted so quickly the Eldar Rangers, who had located the Rhinos, were caught out in the open. With no cover to be found, and the orks surging toward the transports like a green tide, the rangers decided to hold their ground in the middle and attempt to slow them down. With his rangers holding the middle with fire support from his dark reapers and the mighty falcon grav-tank, Fuegan sent his squad of guardians supported by the Avatar to secure one of the rhinos while he led a squad of his fire dragons along with dire avengers to repel the orks from the other. His swift moving squad of warp spiders made there way into the middle to protect and support the exposed rangers. The rangers trained their sights on a squad of Nobz and took a few shots. Two of the mighty orks fell but the loss of their comrades did little to weaken the desire for battle as they surged forward. The guardians took a shot at one of the massive ork dreadnoughts with their bright lance platform as they advanced toward the objective. The bright lance hit its mark, causing a massive explosion turning the dreadnought into a smoking crater of twisted metal. The rest of the elder forces unleashed a firestorm on the squads of grots carefully positioned as a living shield in the front of the ork ranks. The grots were annihilated to the man, but not a single ork with the exception of the grot trainers was harmed. Shatterskull looked as though he was enjoying watching his shield be torn apart. It was entertaining and effective; he could always acquire more grots.

Warboss Shatterskull Snotblood watched the battle unfold from the deck of his battlewagon. From there he shouted orders, and inspired his Nobz for the upcoming fight. His pupil, Warboss Skabarg, took his squad of Nobz and headed for the same rhino as the guardians, he knew they would have no trouble taking it from the puny Eldar. Even the Avatar did not frighten him, its frail frame did not look menacing to the powerful ork, his lack of experience and wisdom could lead him to disaster. With Skabarg heading for one of the objectives Snotblood ordered his squad of boyz to take the one closest to him. His remaining Deffdread was sent to hold the middle of the formation and prevent the swift footed Eldar from outflanking his troops. His koptas and stormboyz he held in the back, ready to fly to the aid of any flank that began to falter. The orks let loose with a barrage of gunfire as they surged forward toward their objectives, this did little but make a lot of noise and pump the orks up for the ensuing charge as it managed to bring down few of the elder warriors. Shatterskull looked pleased with the placement of his forces as he prepared to disembark from his vantage point and lead his Nobz to glorious victory.
The warp spiders sprung forward on the attack, warping into the middle of the ork lines, letting loose a deadly barrage from their death spinners. Several ork boyz fell, but not nearly enough. The warp spiders were now sandwiched between the boyz and their dreadnought. The rangers attempted to lay down some covering fire to help the spiders retreat. The deadly snipers did manage to kill a few more boys, but with their foes so close this did not discourage them from charging into battle. The guardians made it to the rhino and began to set defensive positions in an attempt to hold the ground from the Nobz bearing down upon them. Fuegan, seeing his warp spiders in danger, advanced his troops closer to their objective. They attempted to provide fire support to the doomed spiders but to little avail. He could not abandon the objective to save his warriors. He must reach the emissary.
The battlewagon rumbled forward and Warboss Snotblood disembarked with is Nobz to reinforce the squad of boyz heading for a showdown with Fuegan and his forces. They let loose with a hail of fire at the spiders with the battlewagon supporting their efforts. A few warp spiders fell to the hail of bullets, but it was the choppas they feared. With a mighty bellow the ork boyz crashed over the warp spiders like a tidal wave, they tried to put up a fight, but that fight was short lived as the ork boyz finished them off. In the middle the deffdread took aim at the rangers. One ranger fell to the shells of the big shoota as the dreadnought advanced. On the opposite flank; the Nobz led by Skabarg Skartoof were bearing down on the guardians. They fired off a round from their sluggas as they closed in killing a few guardians in the process. Their axes hungered to bite into Eldar flesh.
The guardians sent a salvo of shrunken screaming at the Nobz, determined to unseat them from their objective. It had little effect as only a single Nob was wounded. The ranges turned their attention to the boyz that had just finished off the warp spiders. Firing over the rock wall between them proved to be more difficult then they imagined as none of their shots hit the mark. The Dark reapers unloaded their launchers at the Nobz in an attempt to keep them from reaching the guardians on the left flank. They managed to down one, but the mob was urged forward by Scabarg. The falcon, seeing the mighty Warboss Snotblood leave his transport, brought all its guns to bear on him. A massive explosion threw him to the ground, but he managed to get up and dust himself off. This show of toughness only inspired the orks. Fuegan and his band on the right flank took aim at the boyz killing quite a few, but not managing to break their spirits.
The Nobz again unloaded their sluggas at the entrenched guardians managing to bring down a few as they charged in for the kill. Once in close combat the Nobz quickly overpowered and destroyed the guardians; killing them to the man and claiming the objective, for the moment. Shatterskull managed to right himself and let loose a mighty “WAAAAAAGH!!!” as he urged his troops forward. The boyz and Nobz took shots at the Dire Avengers with their sluggas only managing to kill one. The Boyz then charged attacking fiercely winning the combat with ease. Only the Exarch managed to escape the melee with his life, falling back behind the Fire Dragons. Two mobs of orks now stood between Feugan and the rhino.
The Avatar, arriving too late to save the guardians, charged into the Nobz holding the objective. With one swipe of the Wailing Doom he cut down four nobz sending the rest running for cover. They never made it as they were cut down from behind by the bloodthirsty Avatar. With the Nobz cleared out the Rangers attempted to make their way to the rhino though they had a lot of ground to cover in a short amount of time. The battery of the Falcon and reapers turned their attention to the loan Warboss Scartoof. They landed several shots but failed to bring the warrior down. Fuegan’s Fire Dragons laid waste to the Nobz bearing down upon them with their fusion guns. The remaining two broke and ran only to be persuaded to continue fighting alongside Snotblood himself. The remaining boyz did not fair better agensed Fuegan. His fire pike roasted one as he charged in to finish off the rest with his superior fighting skill. He cut down the last ork with his fire axe and turned to face Shatterskull himself.
Seeing the battle slipping away, Shatterskull ordered his koptas and stormboys to reinforce the middle. The koptas unleashed a hail of rokkits at the loan avenger exarch killing him. The stormboyz opened up at Fuegan with their sluggas to no avail. The deffdread, chasing down the rangers, let loose with its big shoota but failed to land a hit.
It then engaged the rangers in close combat, where they stood no chance. Help from the Avatar would not come soon enough to save them. Fuegan charged into battle with Warboss snootblood and his two remaining Nobz. The Nobz were quickly dispatched, but Shatterskull proved to be a worthy opponent as his power claw managed to bring Fuegan to his knees. With the battle looking grim the Fire Dragons managed to rescue their Phoenix Lord and flee the battlefield.
By nightfall neither side managed to secure the rhinos and both forces slinked back behind their own lines to lick their wounds. The Eldar found themselves in a much better position; though they failed to rescue the emissary they managed to keep him from falling into ork hands, at least for the time being. The orks would no doubt attempt to capture the transports again, however the distress call sent was received by more then the Eldar fortress. A Knights of Atlantis Battle cruiser had just been detected entering the system. Aboard it was a full company of battle ready Space Marines. Their brothers would not be stranded for much longer……..
Fuegan wasted no time in acting after the battle. He quickly sent for reinforcements and headed out into the jungle to secure the Rhinos. Before sunrise he managed to reach the emissary. He sent a small contingent of troops to guard the rhinos on their journey to the Elder outpost. Fuegan stayed behind to cover the escape of the marines and slow down the ork pursuit.
Warboss Snotblood was awoken by a small grot sent to give him the news that the Eldar had managed to reach the humies during the night. This news was not received well, and the grot paid for it with his life. More warriors had arrived and Snotblood was ready to put an end to this alliance. He lead his troops out in pursuit of the retreating forces, He was not expecting resistance, until his force ran straight into an Eldar patrol meant to slow down the advance of his orks, and foil his ability to catch up with the Rhinos……..
